«Winning has remained my number one priority»

Over the last 45 years I have been a professional player and subsequent coach. During these many years I have gained significant experience in football globally. During my football journey I have become familiar with countless players and have worked with and against a wide variety of fascinating coaches.

Winning has always remained my top priority and I look back on many successes including the most recent in 2019 where I was able to guide Zamalek SC of Egypt to success in the African Confederations Cup. Similarly, I will never forget participating in the European Champions League in 1996 and 1997 with Grasshopper Club Zurich as the first Swiss representative. These memories will always be with me and the strategies and challenges that guided us to success. It is for these reasons that I am forever energised to be successful with teams and the players I have worked with. The aim is to sow the seeds of a ‘Winning Gene’ in all team members, such that their full football potential can be realised in the field of play.

«An autobiography is not my way»

My constant apporach to being successful makes me decide to pass on my knowledge and experience directly and practically to my professional colleagues.
